Highly Capable Program Nominations

Nominations are being accepted for the district's elementary highly capable program. The purpose of the highly capable program is to meet the unique needs of students who demonstrate exceptional ability, academic achievement and creativity. If your child, currently in grades K – 5, shows signs of being intellectually advanced, consider having him/her nominated for the Discovery/Challenge program.Nominations will be accepted through the first week of April.

Nominations will be accepted for students currently in grades K-5.  Those
students who meet the screening measures will be assessed in May. Students meeting the highly capable criteria would be involved with Discovery/Challenge in fall of 2015. Please check the district’s website for additional information about the curriculum, policies, and procedures. (School Board: Learning Programs and Supports, 2190, 2190p)
